Please note: We have split up
the responsibilities for the triathlon events. Co-ordinators
details for each of the three events are below.
Will Wetsuits be Compulsory?
You should assume that they
are and come prepared to swim in one. The final decision will be made on race
day by the referee based on the water temperature and weather conditions.
What happens if the Swim is cancelled?
The swim will only be cancelled if sea conditions are deemed to be too dangerous. This has happened in the past but we hope will never happen again. We will always try to run some type of event usually a duathlon 5km run, 40km bike, 10km run. If you should choose not to race on the day because of the changed nature of the race there will be no refunds, as there will be an opportunity to race, and we still have to incurr the costs of setting up and running the event.
All bike helmets should have
the EN1078 sticker inside to show that they are up to the European standard.
If purchased in a country from outside the EU they may have a suitable equivalent
sticker (ANSI from USA).
Has my entry been accepted?
New for 2009 Competitors can view those registered by following these links to the individual events: via EntryCentral.com
Children’s Events - https://www.entrycentral.com/seeCompetitors.php?raceID=100514
Sprint Event - https://www.entrycentral.com/seeCompetitors.php?raceID=100513
Standard Event - https://www.entrycentral.com/seeCompetitors.php?raceID=100507
Late Entries?
Sorry NO late entries and we cannot accept entries on the day. Once the race is full the race is full. We
will put a very few people on a reserve list. This will only be used to fill
places up to one week before the event.
Withdrawal Policy
The Clacton Triathlon Club acknowledges that competitors may need to withdraw an entry due to injury or other reason. Clacton Triathlon Club will accept written notification of a withdrawal, received in writing or by e-mail, by the event co-ordinator four weeks before the event. A refund will then be made less a £10 administration fee. After 15th August 2009 no refund or substitution will be accepted. Date of withdrawal from postal requests will be as postmarked on the envelope. Telephone messages are not acceptable.
Can I use a Number Belt?
Yes
Where can I find local
accommodation?
If you wish to camp we have
a limited number of camping spaces available at the race venue. There are
toilet facilities but no showers. And you must book in advance by e-mail info@clactontriathlon.co.uk or phone
07980 695185.
Which wave will I be in?
This is not decided until
close to the race date as Police conditions dictate that we must try to spread
the field out as best as meanwpossible. So we look at swim times and then
randomise the order. Please give us an accurate swim time it will not influence
when you start but will help us to comply with the conditions set.
Probably by walking, you
will need to allow at least 15minutes. We do provide a trailer for you to
place clothes and shoes in which should be placed in the numbered bag provided.
You will then be able to collect these items after your race has finished.
